Monthly Report November

Written by Teacher Margaret

Trust you all are doing well. We at Happy Day are doing good. This term is coming to an end and all public schools have already closed for the Christmas holidays. We are starting our end term exams next week and we will close our school on 10th Nov for the holidays.
Our pre - unit class is also supposed to have a graduation ceremony on the same day. We have talked to their parents to find out if they can support us with the graduation requirements and most of them say that they are willing but their financial status doesn't allow them to. We need gowns, certificates, drinks and snacks for the event. I had talked with the teachers and we think it would be also a good day to have a Christmas party for all the kids since we will meet again on January 5th. We decided that we the teachers will each contribute 500 shillings towards the same.
We also went to visit Shaban Omar's family and all we can say is that that family is very needy. Teacher Kelis gave them some bedding, tr Mary gave some clothes, me and tr joy bought foodstuffs and tr mercy bought vegetables. I vowed to support the family where and when we can. They are 3 in our school. We have started visiting families in order to know how needy they are. We can't help all but we are doing what we can. Thanks Marianne for getting sponsors for some of our kids. We will give them foodstuffs too during the closing day. Our staff are big hearted just like you all. I have witnessed them give even when they too needed help. They love the happy day kids very much.
Next year is an election year in Kenya and we don't know how it will be but we trust that it shall be well.
